The Very Reverend Victor Stacey, former Dean of St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, visited the parish for three weeks in October.
Fr Victor (pictured) was elected as Dean of St Patrick’s – the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland – in February 2012, having previously been Rector of Dun Laoghaire. During his time at St Patrick’s Cathedral he oversaw the restoration of the Lady Chapel and the transfer of the St Patrick’s Cathedral Grammar school to the Free School Scheme, among other significant events.
The Archbishop of Armagh, The Most Revd Dr Richard Clarke, and the Archbishop of Dublin, The Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson, when Fr Victor's retirement was announced said, ‘Dean Stacey has been consistent in his stewardship of St Patrick’s Cathedral during his tenure. Many will have enjoyed his gentle characteristics of personality and all will wish him well in retirement.’
Fr Victor preached at Christ Church on Sunday 9 October at both the 8am and 10am Masses.
